Cupcakes & dates with little boys.....

So this is going to be a little bit of a different kind of post. I decided to post on this blog instead of the other one because my little Logan called today's gathering my "baby shower". Now for those of you that don't know who Logan is, I'll back up a little and introduce these little men in my life.

My best friend, Shawna, has two little boys. Alex & Logan. They are by far the most adorable things I have ever been around. I love them like they are my own family. They live 2 hours away from me and I don't get to see them often. Today we made plans to meet for lunch and then bring the boys back to my house to see the baby room, decorate cupcakes, and meet my dogs. Shawna & I have been friends for 3 or 4 years and I can't believe we've never been to eachothers house before. Today changed that.

I met the boys in a town about 30 minutes away. We had lunch and then we left to drive to my house. They were greeted by my two loveable dogs. Redick was barking and hiding and Riley was giving kisses. Riley, my perfect sweet dog....he loved the boys. Redick just wasn't sure. New things kinda freak him out. He wouldn't ever hurt them but he wasn't going to be friends with them right away either. We came in so they could see the house. While we were in the baby room, Logan asked me "Nisa where's your baby at?" to which I responded, "He's in my tummy". Before I give you his response to that I want to explain that Logan is the most spunky kid I've ever met. He's honest (as little kids tend to be) and he is funny. I love the way his brain works. So when I told Logan that the baby was in my tummy it didn't really surprise me when he responded, "I noticed your tummy had gotten bigger!" to which Shawna & I both busted up laughing. He's quick, he doesn't ever miss anything. I loved it though. He kept asking me questions about the baby in my belly after that and it was cute. We decorated cupcakes and went outside where the boys got to play with Riley and watch him do all of his tricks. They got to see a real tractor and see how big the wheels on the tractor are. We had a great time. They even signed the mat board on the "guestbook" we had at my first baby shower. I loved it. They wrote thier names as big as they could. It's cute and I love it. They also brought me some surprises. The boys picked out a crystal to hang in the window in the baby room so that he could have rainbows. It's a beautiful crystal. I know it is going to be beautiful once it's hung up. They also brought me some pacifiers that they helped pick out. Oh and just for me, they bought me my favorite candy. They are make by the Ferraro Rocher company and are the dark chocolate ones....Ferraro Rondnoir. I love those things.

So I thought since today was a "baby shower" according to Logan, I would post the pictures of our time together. In some of these pictures you can see my ever growing belly. So enjoy!

So this may seem like an odd picture. Shawna & I have kept our toe nails painted blue since I found out I was pregnant because I wanted a boy. Looks like it worked out good for us!

Pregnancy....

So at this point I'm 31 weeks along. Emotions run high some days and others not so much. Yesterday was kind of an emotional day. Pregnancy hormones just aren't kind. Nothing was the matter, I just felt very whiny and not myself. I worked on baby laundry, washed all his little newborn to 3 months clothes. I even washed the millions of blankets I got! I can't believe how many loads that took! Oh well, I will need them and maybe I can find someone to make me a little quilt out of the ones that I have once he's older. I actually got some sleep last night. I probably didn't fall asleep til after 1 this morning. I slept late and got to enjoy a little snuggle time with my husband this morning when he got home from work. I woke up feeling a lot better.

So since I was feeling better and there is this beautiful light pouring in my doorway, I decided I'd take advantage of it and take a few pictures of myself. You know I haven't done that in a little while so I thought it would be fun to do and then edit them a little bit in photo shop. I love that program and working in it always makes me happy. So today that's just what I did. Enjoy!

This is what 31 weeks looks like.

It always looks bigger when I am sitting down.

Baby Shower #2

Today was my second baby shower. This one took place in my church....a place that I feel most at home. I've been in that church since I was around 5 or 6. These people are like my family. I got to see a lot of people that are very near and dear to my heart! I even got a phone call from a lady who I love very much and I don't get to see very often. I was blessed beyond anything I expected today. This shower was laid back and fun and everything I knew it would be. So I thought I would post a few pictures of my shower today.

Finished!!

Well, kinda! We got our carpet today! It was supposed to be here Friday and since we had bad weather we had to wait a few more days. Anyway, he came and installed it today and when we went to pay for it, we were surprised to find out that more than half of it had already been paid for! My mother & father in law had gone down and written a check for $700 to help us pay for the carpet going in the baby room! You can imagine the shock! That really was a generous thing to do. It made both of us breathe a sigh of relief! That really helped us out! Then after we paid for the rest of the carpet, we went by my in law's house to tell them thank you. We had another gift once we got there. I also got the pack & play I had wanted. It has been such a great day.

So after we got hom from all of our surprises, we loaded the furniture into the baby room. Mom & Dad came out to see the new carpet and Mom helped me unpack all the clothes, blankets, etc. that I got on Saturday. We got all the bedding put on his little crib. It's so stinkin' cute! All I need now is for him to get here! I still have a little while to go on that one though!!

Okay, ignore the vacuum!

Redick likes the new carpet!

Baby Presents Galore!

So yesterday I had my first of two baby showers. My best friend and I have been talking about it for a long time. Things I liked, wanted, and didn't. She and my other hostesses came up with some great ideas, a great theme, and it was amazing! My best friend got snowed in and didn't get to make it but she was there in spirit and you could tell by everything that was done. All my "cravings" were on a table....with the exception of Sonic's pickle O's and Taco Bell. My sweet friend Jennifer made the most adorable cake! It was just so much more than I ever dreamed it could be. I got a ton of great gifts. Lots of clothes, towels, blankets....SO much stuff! I even got my diaper bag. The one I had picked out wasn't necessary, just the one I found that I liked the most. It was kinda pricey so when I opened it up I was so excited! I can honestly say I've been blessed with some amazing people in my life. I got more things for this baby than I ever dreamed I would get. So many tiny clothes! I can't wait to get the carpet installed in his room so we can start loading in the furniture and I can take over the room and decorate & fill it with all of this stuff! I just can't wait! So here's some of the pictures from the wonderful shower I had yesterday!

The adorable cake! Jennifer did a great job!
All my favorite things, well, most of them! I ate almost all the tomatoes!

Welcome!

So I have been thinking about starting a second blog for a while! For those of you who are new to this and don't know about my other blog you can find it HERE! I am starting this blog up to share things that happen with me and the baby, both while I'm still pregnant and after he makes his arrival into the world!

So here's where we are right now. I am 28 weeks along, and have had a crazy pregnancy. Lots of morning sickness and lots of excitement! Seth & I found our we were expecting in the early part of August. Seth wasn't all that thrilled at first. He's coming around though. We both wanted to have a boy so bad....I even painted my toe nails blue and wouldn't wear anything pink until we found out! I am still doing the blue polish on my toes, but I've gotten better about wearing pink clothes!!

We found out right before Thanksgiving that we are having a boy! I was so excited because my brother & his wife, Rhyan, were going to be coming home for Thanksgiving and I wanted to be able to share this with them. They are living in Virden, Illinois which is about 700 miles away from home! I've been trying to keep them updated!

Pregnancy has been a fun ride. We have been working on the baby room and it's coming along! We are doing the baby room in fire trucks. I can't wait to start decorating! I have tons of fireman stuff! My Pawpaw Bazil was a firefighter. He gave me all kinds of fire dog statues and other fire related things. They mean the world to me and I'm excited that they will be part of the baby room! It's going to be SO cute!!

I thought I would start this blog to keep my family members updated with pictures, stories, and just funny things that happen during the last few months of my pregnancy and also once the baby gets here. I'm sure that it will be quite an adventure! So here's to a new blog!
